Group Health Insurance Plans
Traditional Fully Insured Plans
With a traditional fully insured health plan, the employer pays a premium. The premium rates are fixed for a year, and the employer pays a monthly premium based on the number of employees enrolled in the plan.
Health Savings Accounts (HSA)
Heatlh Savings Accounts provide employees with flexible spending accounts for medical expenses. HSAs allow employees to set aside pre-tax dollars for
medical expenses not covered by the company’s health insurance, including
premiums and deductibles. HSA
contributions and gains can be rolled from year to year, there’s no “use it or
lose it” requirement, and employees retain ownership of the funds even if employment is terminated.
